My son is going to receive a 30 day ankle bracelet detention

My son is going to receive a 30 day ankle bracelet detention for a DUI. My questions is, he was arrested in North. Ca. but lives in So. Calif. He attends school. His breaks are only 2 weeks. If he misses 2 weeks of school he will flunk all classes. So I am wondering, 1) will he be able to serve it in So. CA so he can attend school while serving or 2) is it possible to do 2 - 2 week terms? He is so stressed about flunking and losing his financial aid, not to mention wasting whole quarter. He said obviously he should have never gotten in trouble, but he is a straight A student and doesn't want to flunk out, losing aid. Thanks

Optional Information:
Vallejo, California

Already Tried:
Nothing. Just received word yesterday from lawyer that this is what the decision will be in court. Haven't had direct contact with attorney yet. Son is stressing that he will flunk out. Just trying to get some sort of answer before Monday when we can speak to the lawyer. I can't find anything online regarding rules or regulations for house detention. Thank you.

I was wanting to know is it legal, or common to let someone serve their 'detention' time in a different county. Since he arrest was in Northern Calif., but he resides in Southern CA. The secretary had said she believed it would have to be up here in North. CA., so I am wondering if it is legal or usual to serve in a different area. If he can legally do it in So. CA. then maybe he can wear it from home to school (less than a mile).

Usually they will transfer the requirements to the county where the defendant resides so it shouldn't be a problem. However, most ankle bracelets that I am aware of do not have a one mile range.
